Aspidistrafly《I Hold a Wish for You》
Formed by April Lee and Ricks Ang and based in Singapore. Fascinated by fleeting beauty and the transient moments in daily life, their work lies in a convergence where time-based visual art, design, sound, and music constantly meld and overlap.
Their release 「THE GHOST OF THINGS」, a handmade accordion photobook + 4 track EP, was widely regarded as one of the best local independent releases of 2004 by critics and fans alike.
In 2007, they went on to participate in a number of international compilations, which were distributed worldwide, as well as live appearances in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia.
aspidistrafly has also contributed materials to the theatre and media arts scene, most notably on 「Drift Net」, a multi-sensory installation/performance curated by Singapore-based international performance company TheatreWorks.
In 2008, aspidistrafly collaborated with haruka nakamura on his album 「grace」, released by schole records. aspidistrafly released their first full length CD「i hold a wish for you」in July 2008
Outside of their musical activites, they work in the domain of design and interactive media as Kitchen. a creative studio established by April and Ricks in 2005.
