‘BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER’ is helmed by three Asian female directors from China, Thailand and Singapore.
As suggested by its title, each film is set at the respective mealtimes. Collectively, the three directors present three perspectives on love.
The project has been nominated for Golden Horse Film Festival Taiwan Film & TV Project Promotion 2007 and invited to
Paris Project Screening 2008.
The characters in ‘DINNER’ are as follow:
1. Mei – age 35 to 45.
An attractive middle-aged woman. A competent career-lady type, she is opinionated and highly independent. Possesses a strong
command of the Chinese language. She pursues love and is not shy about it. However, marriage and parenthood are never in her pipeline.
She falls in love with a much younger man with artistic flair but believes that love between them would not last forever.
MEI(年龄介于35至45)有成熟女人的妩媚,干练事业 女性型,中文语言表达能力强。
她是一个自主性很强并讲求原则的独立女性,自食其力,从不依靠任何人。她敢爱敢恨,敢于追求爱情,但结婚生子并不是她的人生目标,她崇尚自
由。她爱上一个有艺术气质、年龄比她小的男子,却对他们之间的隔阂感到爱情是无法天长地久的。
2. Ming – age 20 to 30.
An arts lover and idealist. Just graduated from university and presently working part-time. He is wary of younger girls as he does not cherish the idea of having to look after them. On the other hand, he is attracted to intelligent and older women. He believes in the purity of love but finds himself uncontrollably weak in the flesh. He needs love to establish his self-worth.
MING(年龄介于20至30)热爱艺术没有正业,大学毕业不久,是一个还怀有天真梦想的大孩子。他害怕年龄比他小的女生,害怕责任、害怕照顾他人。成熟聪慧的女性尤其吸引他,他有恋母情结。他希望拥有坚贞纯洁的爱情,可是他身体里却控制不住自己的原始欲望。他善解人意,却比他想像中还外强中干,需要被爱来肯定自己。
STORY
Dinner deals with the quest for companionship. Huai Mei, a charming mature career woman, goes on a short holiday with her beau,
Da Ming, a man younger than her. Both are trying to rekindle the passion between them, especially with the age gap threatening to
stand in the way. On the trip, however, Da Ming allows himself to be led on by a young female traveller. The film shows how the various characters seek companionship and the struggles between trying to be true to one’s partner and meeting one’s own needs for
comfort and solace.

About 30 minutes long, ‘DINNER’ is the last installment of the Independent feature ‘BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER’

FEES
Being a small-budget independent feature, the remuneration for actors would be on a nominal fee basis. Besides transports and food,
humour would also be provided.
